Your privacy matters to us. The Reifenkompass works without registration and without any personal data. Here you can find out which data is processed when you use it, and why.

Your answers in the Reifenkompass
When you request an assessment, we store your answers (car category, mileage, district, driving profile, current tyres, tyre pressure system, service price, language), the result and – if you give it – your feedback. In addition we note for each assessment, only as yes or no, whether the result was saved as a PDF, the link was shared or the cost breakdown was opened. Your postcode is only used in your browser to determine the district and is not stored. This data contains no name, no contact details, no licence plate and no IP address, and cannot be linked to a person. It is therefore anonymous data.
We use it to improve the Reifenkompass and to create aggregated, anonymous figures on the tyre market, for example shares by region, car category or mileage. We may pass on such figures to companies in the tyre and automotive industry. We never pass on individual assessments. The comparison “what others are leaning towards” also shows only aggregated shares, and only once there are at least 30 answers per group.
Technically necessary data
When you open the site, the server necessarily processes your IP address, date and time, the page requested and details about your browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and to protect it against misuse (e.g. mass automated submissions). The IP address is kept in memory for a few minutes at most for this purpose and is not stored in the database. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Hosting and processors
The site is hosted by Scaleway SAS (data centre in Paris, France), the database by Supabase (data centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany). Both process data exclusively on our behalf and within the European Union.
Cookies, analytics and fonts
The Reifenkompass does not set cookies for visitors and does not use any analytics, tracking or advertising services. Fonts are loaded from our own server, not from third parties.
Contact by email
If you email us, we process your details to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete them once they are no longer needed for this purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Your rights
Where we process your personal data, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Please use the email address above.
The answers stored in the Reifenkompass are anonymous. We cannot link them to a person and therefore cannot provide access to or delete them individually (Art. 11 GDPR).
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
